Experiential Anatomy for the Voice: A Self-Paced Course
Understanding anatomy is one thing. Experiencing how that anatomy contributes to your voice is something entirely different.
Experiential Anatomy for the Voice is a six-part self-paced course with Christine Schneider and Jared Trudeau designed to help you better understand, feel, and explore the structures involved in vocal function.
In each section, Christine guides you through the anatomy, breaking down the structures and their relationships in an approachable way. Then, Jared brings that anatomy into the voice through targeted vocal drills and explorations.
Together, we explore:
The Jaw
Extrinsic Laryngeal Musculature
Intrinsic Laryngeal Musculature
The Tongue
The Pharynx
The Soft Palate
This course isn’t about simply memorizing muscles and structures. It’s about developing a deeper relationship with your own anatomy and exploring how that knowledge can inform your vocal experience.
Learn the anatomy. Explore it through voice. Experience the connection.

Program Details
Experiential Anatomy for the Voice is a six-part, self-paced course designed to bridge the gap between learning anatomy and experiencing it through your own voice.
Each section begins with Christine Schneider guiding you through the anatomy and function of a specific region. Jared Trudeau, MFA then takes that information into vocal practice with targeted exercises designed to help you explore how the anatomy relates to sound and vocal function.
The Six Sections
1. The Jaw
Explore the anatomy and function of the TMJ and surrounding musculature, followed by vocal exercises that bring awareness to jaw movement and its relationship to the voice.
2. Extrinsic Laryngeal Musculature
Learn about the muscles that position and support the larynx and explore their relationship to movement and vocal function.
3. Intrinsic Laryngeal Musculature
Take a closer look at the muscles within the larynx responsible for vocal fold movement, tension, and position, then explore these concepts through sound.
4. The Tongue
Explore the complex anatomy of the tongue and its relationships to the jaw, hyoid, larynx, palate, and vocal tract before bringing those relationships into vocal exploration.
5. The Pharynx
Learn about the anatomy of the pharynx and its role within the vocal tract, then explore how changes within this space can influence your experience of sound.
6. The Soft Palate
Explore the anatomy and function of the soft palate and its relationship to the pharynx, resonance, and vocal tract shaping.
What You'll Experience
Throughout the course, you'll move back and forth between understanding and experiencing.
Learn the anatomy with Christine.
Explore it through voice with Jared.
Notice what changes for you.
Because knowing where a structure is on a diagram is only the beginning.
The goal is to experience the anatomy within your own voice.
